F/T - Assoc Lib /Content Management - Memorial Sloan-Kettering

Associate Librarian-Content Management
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center , New York, NY

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a world renowned organization dedicated to the progressive control and cure of cancer through programs of patient care, research, and education.

Manage the technological infrastructure of our library including external content providers, supporting software and hardware, websites and databases management systems.

In this position you will select vendors and consultants to support the content management functions of the library, negotiate contracts and license agreements, manage the content acquisitions budget, set and manage service agreements and a disaster recovery strategy for our critical resources. You will chair our library's content team.

Create and execute project to install, integrate and deploy newly acquired technology.

Develop operational processes and policies to support a 24x7 virtual service supporting on-campus and remote access for the MSKCC community.

Manage the collection and analysis of content statistics, metrics and reports to support informed collection decisions.

Create and implement a usability program to support the end user/client view of content and library services.

Key leader in ongoing user assessments efforts that support the Center's research efforts in grant preparation, JCAOH and other major clinical, research and educational efforts.

Manage staff that supports the content management functions, as well as contractors and interns.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
BS in health sciences and MLS from ALA accredited program, as well as eight to ten years of library information management experience, including three to five years of managing content in a consortia environment, process and budget for science and medical information are required.
Must have experience managing staff that provides virtual library services. The ideal candidate will have experience with Open URL standards, SFX and such library portals as Metalib, User Centered Design approach.
