Seeking Part-time Technical Services Librarian
The Livingston Library at Webb Institute, in Glen Cove, seeks an energetic, detail-oriented Librarian for periodicals and technical services. Responsibilities will involve the following:
· Overseeing periodicals—working with periodicals vendors, claiming and back-filling, preparing binding and collapsing records in Voyager ILS.
· Dealing with routine OCLC interlibrary loans, assisting with circulation, assisting in OCLC bibliographic searches and processing of records in Voyager ILS. May include data entry.
· Managing a vertical file, print and digital, and assisting in maintaining the order of the collection.
Work Schedule/Requirements
Hours are somewhat flexible, but the schedule would be for 16 to 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday, from about 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Position reports to the Library Director.
Desired Qualifications:
Master of Library Science. Prior experience in technical services in an academic setting. Experience with OCLC and ExLibris’ Voyager ILS. Candidate must be careful and accurate. Must be proficient in the use of PC’s, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Proficiency with Access preferred. Will consider current MLS graduate student.
