This is a 6-12 months assignment, with potential for extension or regular full-time employment.

Reporting to the Chief Media and Digital Officer, this digital services position provides strategic direction regarding all aspects of managing Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts* acquired and produced media assets. Specific responsibilities include:
* Architecting and implementing efficient, industry-leading practices for the day-to-day lifecycle of content within file-based systems as well as archive digitization, migration and storage protocols.
* Provide recommendations for and coordinate within Lincoln Center all media movement and archive requirements for performance assets, marketing and promotion assets and other programming.
* Collaborate with cross-organizational digital service roles and IT department to steward management and operation of the organization*s Media Asset Management systems while meeting the media production and distribution needs of all LCPA content production loci.
* Develop and establish communication channels to achieve integration of the role into all Lincoln Center production and on-line activities, and, as directed, those of other organization stakeholders.

Short-Term Goals:
Asset and Workflows Audit
* Audit organization*s audio-visual assets, and document its department-by-department asset ingest, annotation, storage and retrieval capacities and workflows.
Short-Term Recommendations
* Provide short-term recommendations for asset ingest, annotation, and storage; as well as storage solutions.

Longer-Term Goals:
Asset Acquisition, Media Production and Storage Workflows
* Develop, implement, and update workflows and processes for Lincoln Center*s media asset acquisition, annotation, asset accessibility, asset use in production, and asset archiving, including:
o establishing training procedures and documentation for content acquisition;
o establishing naming conventions;
o associating existing asset metadata and structuring required asset metadata;
o implementing tiered storage for assets across asset life-cycle, including (as applicable) high-resolution archival formats, mezzanine broadcast formats, and low-resolution formats that facilitate searchability.
* Develop standards and manage compliance/oversight of Media & Digital Department*s SOP*s for the above.
* Design and perform staff training in digital production and media management SOP*s.
* Provide support to Asset Management system users and Media Production system users, organization-wide, as required (including interface with IT and system vendor support organizations, issues log collection, problem identification, (characterization & resolution).
* Develop workflows for regular movement of content to storage tiers and deletion of content, as appropriate. Monitor SAN memory capacity and server content.
* Oversee audio-video archive operations. Engage and oversee third-party ingest/digitization/migration of Live from Lincoln Center archive. Establish workflows and QC assessment for end-to-end ingest process (tape cleaning, robot loading v. stand-alone VTR operation, ingest success metrics assessment, etc.).
* Quarterly update department management on what volume of archive content has been successfully ingested, relative to the volume targeted for completion in that time frame.
* Collaborate with IT Support to monitor system performance and undertake preventative maintenance of the system; document issues and resolutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* 7-10 years progressive experience in roles focusing on the digital strategic direction of media assets.
* Must be highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to work independently but also interface and collaborate with a diverse group of people and situations to facilitate discussions and consensus.
* Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and to be a proactive thinker.
* Must be detail oriented, meticulous and able to maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to translate approved objectives into work plans and procedures.
* Demonstrated success in meeting objectives, schedules and budgets.
* Very strong computer skills required, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and use of the Internet. Experience with Final Cut Pro and other nonlinear editing systems highly preferred.
* Knowledge of a server-based file system required.
* Must have media industry experience generally and MAM experience specifically
* Experience managing project teams within and across departments.
* Multi-genre interest in and general knowledge of performing arts preferred.
* MAM experience in a broadcast-dependent environment preferred.
* BA preferred.
