THE OPPORTUNITY
The Web and Digital Manager is responsible for the Taproot Foundation’s online presence and programs, from marketing to services. Our award-winning programs depend on our online presence, but our digital tools and content are a program in themselves, through which we raise the profile of pro bono, provide resources to those who are doing or getting pro bono, and build the national pro bono marketplace. In this role, you’ll ensure our site is best-of-breed in the nonprofit sector and fully engages our stakeholders in our mission and operations. 
This position reports to the Director of Product and Program Development and is based in our New York office or our San Francisco office. The Web and Digital Manager also manages our web developer and any outside resources (either paid or pro bono). 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement the online and marketing strategy for taprootfoundation.org and associated social media
  • Manage the overall UI, design, copy, and functionality of taprootfoundation.org
  • Develop and maintain all site copy and production graphics 
  • Manage web developer
  • Ensure the site is regularly updated with fresh and compelling content
  • Work with all staff to ensure Taproot programs and initiatives are using and benefiting from our site presence
  • Integrate social media and use partner sites to drive usage
  • Track site performance and adjust site and outreach based on data 

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

  • At least three years’ experience managing a complex and leading web property
  • Demonstrated talent for web UI design and copywriting
  • Experience managing a complex site with Drupal or similar platform
  • Ability to produce high-quality production graphics for the web
  • Ability to edit video into ready assets for the web
  • Track record of working with developers, designers, and vendors to build web functionality
  • Proven passion for pro bono service and for social impact
