ILS Admin, PALS Plus – NJ

The PALS Plus consortium seeks an ILS Administrator. The position is located in Passaic County.


The ILS Administrator implements, manages, and provides ongoing support for the PALS Plus shared integrated library system (ILS) and ILS-related applications and services. Reporting to the Executive Director, the ILS Administrator works in collaboration with other PALS Plus staff members as well as with directors and staff members in the PALS Plus member libraries. The position has direct supervision of one or more subordinate staff members.
Minimum requirements are a degree from four-year college or university and three years of progressively responsible work experience with library information systems and related services in a complex, multi-agency, environment. A master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA accredited program is desirable and will offset one year of experience.

Also required are expertise with Word and Excel, training experience, the ability to write and speak clearly in English, a valid driver’s license and personal transportation.

Desirable skills and experience include administrative experience with SirsiDynix Symphony, experience with SQL, web services, web page development, HTML, application macros, and application programming interfaces. 

Supervisory experience and experience with MARC and RDA cataloging are desirable.

Some on-call situations are normal, including evenings and weekends. Travel to member library sites and to meetings is expected.

Starting salary range is $55,000-$60,000. A generous benefits package is available for this position.
