(Temp) Database Manager and Information Architect, Kelly Services – NJ



Kelly Services is recruiting for a Database Manager and Information Architect for a client based in Plainsboro, NJ. This is a 12 month temporary position at 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • As business needs change, documents and communicates new requirements to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Monitors and reports solution usage and performance.
  • Proactively communicates to business groups the value of organizing and tagging information and engages them in requirements development.
  • Promotes a corporate culture based on proactive collaboration, sharing of information, and learning.
  • Promotes user adoption of GlobeShare USA to meet business needs by reaching out to the user community to provide coaching and improve awareness.
  • Provides consultation and advice to site owners to ensure that appropriate security permissions are applied on their sites and content and that site owners and content managers understand how to design and effect information security
  •  Provides consultation and advice to potential Site Owners regarding the most effective ways of leveraging GlobeShare USA to achieve their business objectives
  • Provides input about site security, ensuring that users have appropriate access rights to the various areas in the solution.
  • Collaborates with individuals and groups throughout the department to ensure optimal use of the CMR site for knowledge and information sharing.
  • Coordinates the intranet content and style with sub-department page and site owners; holds regular meetings with this team to provide guidance and overall intranet strategy and direction.
  • Ensures content, style, and organization comply with company guidelines and standards.
  • Manages the content and structure of the Clinical Development, Medical and Regulatory Affairs (CMR) intranet site.
  • Represents CMR on various intranet-focused teams.
  • Acts as a liaison between IT, site owners, and end users on hardware and software issues that affect the availability and accessibility of GlobeShare assets.
  • Reviews all requests for new sites and pages to validate appropriateness of request, bringing “non-standard” requests to the attention of the GSAB for final approval
  • Understands business needs and platform technology capabilities (Microsoft SharePoint) to optimize GlobeShare USA value.
  • Works with individual business groups to prioritize requests for new capabilities.
  • Works with IT to develop specifications and estimates for custom functionality or additional site templates to optimally address business needs.
  • Ensures that content on GlobeShare USA is “findable” – that the navigational elements that can be defined by Novo Nordisk USA adequately guide users to their target destination and that metadata is consistently defined and used on individual sites and pages
  • Ensures that the content governance plan for GlobeShare USA is applied by all site owners
  • Manages requests for new content or functionality to ensure that the changes are necessary, have the appropriate ownership, and will effectively accomplish the desired outcomes.
  • Contributes to the design of the overall metadata architecture for GlobeShare USA, within the framework provided by the enterprise GlobeShare solution, including planning content types and enterprise site columns.
  • Plans and executes regular content audits to ensure that on each GlobeShare USA page and site, content is current, relevant, and appropriate and effectively managed over time.
  • Reviews change requests to content types and site columns from an information architecture perspective.
  • Works with individual site owners to ensure that there is a content management plan for each page and site, including an optimal content organization strategy.
  • Works with Site Owners to identify content issues and prepares informed recommendations for changes.
  • Advises site owners and content managers in the effective use of metadata to improve search “findability.”
  • Monitors search results looking for terms that don’t yield results and common synonyms.
  • Recommends search best bets and synonyms.
  • Works with site owners to determine which sites should be featured as best bets.
Minimum Requirements:
• Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experienced in taxonomy and vocabulary development.
• Proficient in the use and understanding of other computer software, including word processing and document management
• Proficient in website design and maintenance.

Education:

  • Advanced degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) or related field (MIS) strongly preferred. Six (6) or more years of related experience.
