Director,
Library Online; Berkeley College – NJ
Experienced librarian to serve as
Library Director for Berkeley College Online. This position provides the vision
and leadership for all aspects of online library services and support. The work
environment is collegial with emphasis on cooperative endeavors with campus
librarians, faculty and other student support services to provide a quality,
comprehensive library experience. Includes participation in the library liaison
program and course integrated information literacy support.
Requirements:
The Library Director reports to the
Vice President of Library Services and works in alliance with other Berkeley
College Libraries.
Must hold an MLS or MLIS from an
ALA accredited institution
• Strong technology skills
including familiarity with Windows applications, integrated library systems,
course management systems and a broad range of web technology
• Experience with the use of
instructional technologies, e-learning authoring tools and live chat services
• Ability to excel both
independently and as a team member on a variety of simultaneous projects
within a dynamic and team based environment
• Experience with a variety of
subscription databases
• Knowledge of and interest in
emerging technologies and professional development opportunities
• Knowledge of information literacy learning outcomes and effective assessment methods
• Willingness to work a flexible
day/evening schedule
• Ability to work on site
(Clifton, NJ) or remotely
• Must possess excellent writing
skills in combination with effective interpersonal, organizational,
analytical and problem solving skills in a technological environment
• Travel is required for routine
meetings and committee work
Previous academic library
experience a plus
