(Temp) Media Admin., A+E Networks – NY

A+E Networks is seeking a Media Administrator for its Production Media Operations. This is a temporary position located in New York, NY.
Responsibilities:
 

Manage, maintain, track, and organize all media assets living on various servers and storage within the A+E Networks production facility

o The Media Administrator reports directly to the Manager of Production Media Operations, executing and communicating all procedures, processes, workflows and directives set forth.
o Responsible for managing all media assets and metadata on Avid ISIS, Interplay, XSAN, FTP, and archive storage networks. Following and executing procedures for project management, naming and asset deletion as needed.
o Liaise with clients to determine which media and projects are complete and can be archived and deleted from active production servers.
o Coordinate with clients and external vendors proper technical specifications for production shoot media deliveries and to confirm delivery and tracking of scheduled deliverables in conjunction with Media Asset Services.
o Facilitate the arrival, archive and registration of incoming file-based media. Communicate the availability of new media to the clients.
o Work with Edit Support to review the accuracy and viability of all incoming requests prior to execution.
o Assist in enforcing workflows and educate clients regarding new and existing procedures from a media management perspective.
o Assist Technical Operations and Engineering in providing technical support within the facility as it pertains to Avid Interplay, XSAN and FTP servers and systems.
o Assist Manager of Production Media Operations with any assignments, overflow and testing; included but not limited to internal training, troubleshooting, technical document creation and communication with external vendors. Help to create new and refine existing workflows to improve efficiency and increase employee knowledge base.
o Provide support and participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
o Candidate will be relied on to engage in conflict resolution as well as be empowered to make certain decisions on management’s behalf, especially during the second shift when management is less present.


Knowledge / Required Skills:
 

o BA/BS in Communications or related field or related vocational education.
o Minimum 5 years television post production experience or similar, in a fast-paced, high volume facility.
o Expert knowledge of Avid Interplay Access, Avid Symphony and Final Cut Pro NLEs, file-based workflows, asset management systems, and emerging technologies.
o Flexibility in shift work, including night shift availability for backfill as needed.
o Ability to work unsupervised to provide hands-on support, guidance, and troubleshooting for technical testing and client support as well as communicate evolving workflows and procedures.
o Ability to manage expectations of client base while maintaining a customer service approach.
o Experience with MAM and PAM systems is a plus.
