Manager, Market Intelligence, ASME – NJ

ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) seeks to fill an exciting, new position with seasoned and dynamic Manager of Market Intelligence.​  This position is located in our Fairfield, New Jersey office.​
The Manager, Market Intelligence, will be a critical driver in developing new strategic Market Intelligence competency and processes at ASME.​   Working collaboratively with the Director of Market Intelligence and ASME business leaders, he/​she will be responsible for the development and communication of clear and focused market and competitive intelligence that will be used to help drive smart, market-focused and objective business decisions regarding new market opportunities, competitive threats, risks to ASME, and key technology developments.​

He/ ​she will lead on-going collection and interpretation of the relevant information from multiple sources, including, but not limited to traditional and new media, financial, market and industry reports, technical journals and internal ASME market research, sources and communities.​ He/​she will draw conclusions /​ implications from these information sources and effectively package/​communicate results to business leaders.​

In addition, the Market Intelligence Manager will be responsible for the design and development of the ASME-wide well-curated collaborative knowledge management portal and process.​ As such, the incumbent should bring a demonstrated ability to build a network of internal cross-functional relationships and leverage organizational knowledge, resources and expertise.​

The ideal candidate must have a BA or BS with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in market/​competitive research within a corporate or consulting environment, preferably working with complex or technical products and services.​  MBA or Masters in Information Sciences or Statistics preferred.​  The candidate will bring a demonstrated competency distilling down vast amounts of financial, business and technical information and data into concise summaries focused on the key implications for customers and strategy.​  He/​she must have highly developed skills in the areas of critical thinking, analysis, consulting and relationship building.​
