DAM Project Mgr (Staff IT) (NY)


The Project Manager will manage the entire project lifecycle of the implementation of a Digital Asset Management System at the client. In addition to managing scope assessment, resource and budget management, the Project Manager must also possess a thorough understanding of DAM systems implementation.
This position is a key role, working closely with members of every department understanding needs and building relationships, troubleshooting, testing, building use cases and policies for metadata, taxonomies and archiving, and training/educating end users.
Key Responsibilities

•Responsible for implementation, administration and workflow of the DAM system.
•Responsible for assigning appropriate metadata, file structure, and find-ability for assets to ensure accurate usage rights.
•Process raw images using the appropriate software and suggest process automation and ensure quality control of images entered into the DAM.
•Create documentation for administrative support and provide hands-on training and support for new internal and general users.
•Coordinate file transfer and distribution of files (Box, FTP, e-mail, etc.), and communication with both internal and external customers.
•Stay current on DAM trends, technologies, and standards to become another subject matter expert resource for DAM.
•Understanding of Taxonomy development; Controlled Vocabularies; Ontology
•Develop visual workflows, data flows, process and business requirements
Education & Experience

•Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent required, BS in Library Science, Information Science, Graphic Arts or business-equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.
•2+ years of project management experience, MS Project experience preferred, leading and coordinating projects requiring the integration of cross-functional technology & business teams using project life cycle methodologies.
•Experience implementing DAM systems (Celum a plus); preferably in a retail or grocery environment.
•Candidate must be a self-starter and have hands-on experience with both Windows and Mac OS, and Adobe Creative Suite and Corel file formatting, conversion, extraction.
•Certification in workflow systems optimization is a plus.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment – must be flexible and able to adapt to change on a regular basis and multiple projects simultaneously.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively to set priorities, meet deadlines, manage
competing priorities and work with minimal supervision.
•Solid organizational and technological problem solving skills.
•Proven experience building collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
