Pharmaceutical Research Editor, InfoDesk – US (telecommute)

InfoDesk is seeking a candidate with 2 to 6 years of experience in searching major medical and drug pipeline databases online and analyzing data to support research needs and applications in the
pharmaceutical industry or related clinical research organizations. Information professionals with graduate (Masters) degrees in library science and/or pharmaceutical or life sciences disciplines will
be suitable applicants.


 Additional Qualifications:
  •  Advanced knowledge of clinical research processes and drug development
  • Proven skills in review and assessment of medical literature, indexing documents, interpretation and summarization of complex medicinal product data presented in multiple sources
  • Clear, concise scientific style of writing with a high level of attention to detail
  •  Ability to work under tight timelines and adhere to established editorial policies, practices, and standards
  •  Excellent English-language communication skills: oral, written, and reading
  • Functional familiarity with the software of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and working on a Windows-based platform
  •  Systematic problem-solving skills, abilty to prioritize and organize work independently, perform multiple tasks as assigned
  •  Comfortable with working remotely, outside a traditional office environment
Responsibilities:
  •  Perform secondary research required to build a detailed understanding of information necessary for term reconciliation and cross-file mapping of Drug names, Mechanism of Action terms, Indications, Routes/Formulation details, and variant Company names
 
  •  Ensure timely production of high-quality indexing and classification of drug pipeline data, using an online taxonomy management tool
 
  • Work with the PharmaIntelligence Director and the Lead Research Analyst to ensure that term mappings meet prescribed standards and guidelines and reflect integrated source data review, consistency in preferred term assignment
  • Collaborate with other colleagues on the editorial team in reviewing work done, providing appropriate feedback, and identifying issues requiring further examination in formal group meetings with management
  • Participate in scheduled cross-functional team discussions and illustrate issues through desktop sharing on WebEx
