Digital Archive Asst (Temp), Practising Law Inst (NY)


 Digital Archive Assistant (Temporary)

The Practising Law Institute (PLI), a leading continuing legal education organization and legal publisher based in Manhattan, seeks a talented and self-motivated individual to assist in efforts to expand the electronic availability of our published back catalog. This is a temporary opportunity that is expected to last three months.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Locating ebook files and/or generating them via an automated generation process
  • Evaluating files for completeness
  • Performing basic XML cleanup
  • Managing ebook components using PLI’s content management systems
  • Deploying ebooks to our online research database, PLI PLUS.
  • Indexing archival content with the PLI taxonomy
  • Other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Exposure to XML, HTML or similar markup languages
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, such as Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with the use of research databases
  • A record of dependability working independently
  • An aptitude for detail-oriented work.
